Quantum Pakistan

Although there are multiple theories exists about the foundation of Pakistan; some might say the fundamental reason for the newly established country in August 1947 was Islam and other says it was founded for Muslims of India to have a separate country where they can live freely and practice their religion along with followers of other religions can live here and practice their religion. Both points of view exist some in practice and some in names like we have the name of our country “Islamic Republic of Pakistan”. In the pursuit of scientific discovery, we traveled from classical physics to quantum physics to describe the reality of the universe. In quantum or one might say real physics of the universe a very important concept is superposition described by Schrodinger’s cat; “a hypothetical cat may be considered simultaneously both alive and dead, while it is unobserved in a closed box”. Another important phenomenon is entanglement when two particles link together in a certain way no matter how far apart they are in space.

In any society, there are a few fundamental factors like religion, education, culture, politics, and economics that describe the ultimate reality of any society. Now if we look into religion in the context of Pakistan, we can say one thing with surety the constitutional foundation is based on Islam and no law can be made against Islamic teachings we also being a Muslim believe in these principles. Islam teaches us honesty, cleanliness, good character, and above all humanity. Now look into your surrounding you see teachers, doctors, journalists, engineers, laborers, or any intellectual and you find none of these fundamentals of Islam in professional practice, and yet we claim to be followers of Islam and even defenders of Islam both at the individual level and at the state level. Take another important factor education that is a building block of any society and specifically for followers of Islam and Islamic countries. We have an example of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in front of us and how much importance he has given to education and yet we are after 75 years of independence facing the dilemma of education. I don’t want to go into the debate of religious education or scientific education as divided in our society. In my understanding as a student education is the backbone of society and when we look into our society the situation of both religious and scientific education is on the decline from the foundation of the country. There is no concept of debate, tolerance, or even critical thinking both in madrasa and universities and the results we are getting are getting worse for society as a whole.

We as a country representative of many cultures, languages, and even religions, and yet we try to enforce one language and one culture at the state level even although individually as part of society we know that for the growth of the country, multiple cultures and languages must go along for creativity and uniqueness in the global village. Politics is a famous subject of every Pakistani both due to continuous instability and corrupt elite in each institution of state and government. Our political elite and even we as individuals are unable to decide which form of political governance system, we want whether we should establish a democratic system or not. In reality, when we see our political parties from all across Pakistan and the majority have a nondemocratic way of electing leaders or Quaid’s and do not bother to conduct elections even within parties. Parliament that is representative of the people of Pakistan can be the only way forward for reforms in institutions and society and if that is nonfunctional and not paying its due role then nothing good can come out in terms of education, governance, and development. In the constitution, it’s written that Parliament is superior, and Elections should be held in due time and see the dilemma!

Last but not least is the economy and how can we not see the worsening situation of the state and individual economy? All factors that we discussed can contribute to the economy if we set our fundamentals like education and political system sail in the right direction that we endorsed through the constitution. Continuation with updation in policies is the only way forward for Pakistan. Quantum physics consists of two fundamentals one is superposition that “cat may be considered simultaneously both alive and dead” and we see in all sectors we have hope and disappointment at the same time. Another principle is entanglement; apparently, it seems all these factors are strongly entangled with each other and change in one will affect the other as Einstein says” spooky action at a distance.”
